Club de Padel expands with indoor Sheffield club to open in 2025

Plans for our new indoor padel facility in Sheffield have been given the green light by Sheffield City Council. Work to transform the dilapidated former distribution warehouse on Boyland Street in Neepsend is already well underway, with plans for five panoramic padel courts alongside a club shop, coffee & juice bar, and generous social, wellness and events space. This second site marks our ambition to open multiple new sites across the UK, following the success of ourdebut site in Manchester, which launched in 2023 and hosted almost 20,000 padel matches in the first twelve months - making it one of the UK’s fastest growing padel clubs.

David Blake, co-founder of Club de Padel, said:

"We’re really excited to bring Club de Padel to Sheffield and have the chance to breathe new life into this incredible space alongside the team at Capital&Centric. We’ve had some fantastic times in this city over the years, as both kids and adults, so we can’t wait to bring Club de Padel here and to introduce as many people as possible to this amazing sport which is exploding across the UK.”

The new facility sits within developer Capital&Centric’s masterplan to reimagine the historic Cannon Brewery site - once home to Stones Bitter - delivering 550 homes, alongside a new urban park and public square with shops, cafés and spaces for pop-up events.

Tom Wilmot, joint managing director of Capital&Centric, said:

“Bringing padel to Cannon Brewery, is a great way of getting people back into the disused spaces whilst we get stuck in to transforming the site. It’s no surprise the team have enjoyed huge success so far, so we’re expecting it to be another big hit here in Sheffield. Padel is a great way of meeting new mates and keeping fit, which perfectly fits with what we want to harness within our communities, especially at Cannon Brewery.”

Club de Padel Sheffield is due to open in Summer 2025.
